For telling bold lies
\nAbout late night rides
\nWith savage, fast paces
\nUnder blackened skies,<\/p>\n

For midnight train chases,
\nAnd closing gate races
\nWith swift tailed birds
\nAnd their feathery embraces:<\/p>\n

For the sprayed up muck,
\nAnd a well pointed buck,
\nAnd for making me wear it,
\neven when I fuck<\/p>\n

For racing trains,
\nThrough wooded lanes,
\nCrosswalk diving
\nAnd making me take Main<\/p>\n

And for all my mirth,
\n(for what it’s worth)
\nLaughing
\nThat extra mile to Kenilworth:<\/p>\n

And for the perpetual ringing
\nAnd distant singing
\nof the crashing gate bell,
\nAnd its drifting dinging,<\/p>\n

And for tricking me
\nInto accidentally killing
\nA 13 striped ground squirrel,
\nAnd a toad:<\/p>\n

For making me dance,
\nFor every missed chance,
\nAnd going knee to knee
\nIn a standing stance,<\/p>\n

For each walking meeting,
\nAnd cold trick-or-treating,
\nFor each meter I cursed
\nAnd this poem, so over-versed:<\/p>\n

For angry skunks,
\na chattering chipmunk,
\nAnd that girl on the path
\nLugging her bright red trunk<\/p>\n

Through 40 miles of tight knit land;
\nFor every blasting grain of sand
\nIn November\u2019s cutting gusts,
\nAnd wintery cold demand,<\/p>\n

Strung with slow dismember,
\nso far I won’t remember
\nTo watch for stray car doors,
\nOr the fallen, stray timber:<\/p>\n

And lastly (finally)
\nFor white retrievers off leashes,
\nAnd sand blasting beaches
\nAnd elevator races to
\nManadnock’s stairway reaches,<\/p>\n

For two twisting winds
\nDressed like big leafy twins
\nBullies, they knocked
\nMe down for my sins,<\/p>\n

And finally (really this time)
\nFor every kilometer
\nThat I wore my bike seat
